My Bottlecap Project

This is my new favorite craft!!!
Well I finally made some of the bottlecaps that I mentioned in an earlier blog post. Can you say addicting??? I love these things, and so does everyone that sees them. They have become a big hit around here. I have gone a little crazy (OK maybe a lot) and made LOTS of them. They are so much fun to make. Even the kids enjoy making them with me (so you know it can't be that difficult). Check out my pictures and let me know what you think.I have sold a lot of these since I started making them (over the summer). If you would like one (or two or three) send me an email and I'll be happy to make whatever you would like. Thanks for looking! Don't forget to leave me your comments.

  1. great job! I know how addicting it is to make these. I haven't tried flattened caps yet, but I like the look of them.

  2. OKAY...These are the cutest ones I have seen on the internet!! I LOVE these! I was just looking for Christmas gift ideas...and I stumbled onto your blog! Where do you get your pictures for inside of your bottle caps? Do you have any pointers on this....do you have a preferred sealer? I'd love to see your suggestions/directions....Love the scrapbook paper and monogram letters!! And I love the idea of using it as a charm on a necklace!! Soooo cute!!

    Great job!!

  3. Julie - Thanks for the compliments! I created a lot of my pictures on publisher and just printed them out. I just looked for free clip art and downloaded it. I did run into some problems with the red ink smearing (from my ink jet printer) which could be solved by a couple of different methods... you can use clear packing tape to cover the front and back of the picture before sealing it or use Modge Podge to seal the pictures. It beats buying a new printer with ink that won't bleed. As far as sealers I like to use 3D Crystal Lacquer. It's the best that I've found. Good Luck! I'd love to see your bottlecaps when you get some made. :) Angie
